Ahmed M. Rezk

Ahmed Rezk began his professional career in 2004 as an Economic Researcher at the
Centre for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS), following his
graduation from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University.
He later transitioned to the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC), where he served
as an Industry Development Expert. Subsequently, he was appointed Manager of
the National Policy Support Unit at IMC.
Rezk advanced his career by taking on the role of Deputy CEO for Policy and
International Cooperation at the Export Development Authority. In 2018, he joined
the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as the National
Programme Officer at the Regional Hub Office in Egypt. By 2022, he was promoted
to Deputy Regional Representative at the same office. Currently, Rezk is the Country
Director of the UN-Habitat Programme in Egypt since June 2024.
Ahmed Rezk holds a Master’s degree in Euro Mediterranean Studies from the
Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University, and an Advanced
Certificate in International Trade from the UK Institute of Export. Over the past 20
years, he has amassed substantial experience in supporting sustainable
development. His key areas of expertise include institutional development, policy
advice and support, development strategies, and reform plans. He has extensive
experience working with governmental entities, international organizations, and
donor-funded development programs.
