Amira Swilam Back Office Partner at Den VC Amira Swilam is the Back Office Partner at Den VC, a leading venture capital firm that invests in early-stage tech-enabled startups across the Pan-Arab and African regions and beyond. She also serves as a Teaching Assistant at the American University in Cairo, where she teaches entrepreneurship and innovation. With extensive experience in managing acceleration and incubation programs, Amira has been with Den VC since its inception, overseeing the fund’s operations, managing investor relations, and supporting portfolio companies. Before joining Den VC, Amira co-founded Freelance Yard, a platform that empowered over 10,000 freelancers and entrepreneurs by connecting them with offshoring projects and offering both online and in-person courses. Her passion for entrepreneurship extends beyond her professional roles; she has played a key role in the success of over a hundred startups through her work in various acceleration programs, including the Startup Reactor program funded by Oxfam and the 17 Goals program funded by the United Nations in Egypt. She is also actively involved in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), the world’s oldest and most prestigious problem-solving competition. Amira holds a bachelor's degree in English Interpretation and Literature and an MBA in Marketing Management from the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned a Venture Capital Diploma from the American University in Cairo. Her mission is to support and accelerate the growth of innovative entrepreneurs and startups through investment, mentorship, and training.
